Inclusion Statement

Diyar Private Academy, Fujairah, provides a quality inclusive education to all Students of Determination (SOD). The vision of the school is to ensure every child, regardless of individual differences and special educational needs experience learning, loves school, and makes great progress in a common learning environment with minimal intervention.

We accept students who have needs of ASD, ADHD, Language Speech and Language Communication, Physical Disabilities, and comorbidity where needs can be catered for by our Special Education team.

The school team believes that children need to control their own learning in order to develop a real love for learning. Our students engage in inspiring, hands-on, critical thinking and problem-solving activities. These activities build their independence and confidence. They enable them to become resilient, life-long learners. Our students grow into adaptable young adults capable of embracing the challenges of the future, leading, and influencing others.

The Achievement Center (ACe)

SOD are provided support through The Achievement Center (ACe). Students who need addition support because English is not their first language also receive support through ACe.

ACe is staffed by our Head of Inclusion, ## Special Education teachers, and ## Learning Support Assistant. ACe rooms are designed to meet their unique needs. Each room represent the ethos of inclusivity in the areas of wellbeing, behavior modification, special education, gifted and talented.

Students receive specially designed lessons to meet their individual needs in our rooms. They may also receive support in their classrooms.

Lessons are designed to develop students' skills in the following areas:

  • Visual and Motor Skills
  • Sensory Integration
  • Reading, Speaking, and Communication skills
  • Attention skills
  • Numeracy skills

Each student has an Individual Educational Plans (IEP). The IEP lays out the students personalized learning program. During lesson, teachers utilize a variety of resources and strategies to help students achieve their individual academic targets. Students’ growth toward their individual goals in monitored on a regular basis. This helps our SOD recognize when they are demonstrating amazing learning.

We have a Sensory Room designed to meet the needs of students with Sensory Integration needs. Scheduled sessions allowed students to experience learning through a tactile approach. The Sensory Room is also available for those who don’t have a sensory need but need to a space to regulate

Counseling Department

Our counseling department supports the social and emotional well-being of our students. A variety of proactive strategies and programs promote positive school culture and academic success for all students.

We offer one-on-one meetings with students who are struggling with social and emotional issues. We also provide check-ins as needed to support students academically and socially. For students who need more intensive support, we refer them to outside agencies.

Our small group counseling promotes academic success and social-emotional development. We provide monthly classroom lessons on important topics, such as restorative practices and social-emotional learning. Our support of these initiatives creates a positive school culture. We review of student data to determines trends and needs for targeted interventions.

Our department believes in the importance of parent engagement and community involvement. We communicate regularly with parents of students who receive support. We share information about school initiatives, events, and opportunities for parent involvement. We connect families to community resources and offer volunteering programs.
